Job Summary:

The Head of Travel Insurance Partnerships is responsible for leading and executing the travel insurance company’s partnership strategy on the South East Asia markets to establish and manage mutually beneficial relationships with various external partners. This role involves identifying potential partners, negotiating partnerships, and ensuring successful implementation to drive business growth and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Partnership Strategy:
Develop a comprehensive travel insurance partnership strategy aligned with the company’s business goals and growth objectives.


Identify potential partner segments and evaluate their potential for collaboration.

Prioritize partnerships based on strategic fit, market opportunity, and potential value.

2) Partnership Development:
Research and identify potential partners, including airlines, online travel agentstech platforms, affinity groups, and other relevant organizations.

Initiate and maintain contact with potential partners to explore collaboration opportunities, enter RFPs…

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (in South East Asia, with global teams & other EA entities)to develop differentiative value propositions, maximizing Europ Assistance underwriting expertise and distribution optimization capabilities (focus on growth/conversion optimization & customer’s satisfaction)

3) Negotiation and Contracting:
Lead negotiation efforts to establish mutually beneficial terms and agreements with partners.

Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure partnership agreements are legally sound and compliant with industry regulations.

4) Onboarding & Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with internal onboarding resources, internal teams such as underwriting, IT & digital, as well as external stakeholders to lead and ensure smooth implementation of travel insurance programs

Communicate partnership objectives, strategies, and progress to internal stakeholders.

5) Relationship Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for partner relationships, fostering strong working relationships.

Monitor and manage the ongoing performance of travel insurance partnerships, ensuring both parties are meeting their commitments.

Address and resolve any issues that may arise during the partnership lifecycle.

6) Performance Tracking and Reporting:
Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for each partnership to measure success and impact.

Regularly track and analyze partnership performance against KPIs, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.

Prepare and present partnership performance reports to senior management.

7)Manage Market Research, Product Design, and Underwriting:
Stay updated on travel industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging partnership opportunities.

Identify innovative partnership models and potential areas of growth within the insurance industry.

Develop together with the Underwriting team, innovative products, new services as well as defining profitable partners segments.

Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Computer Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• At least 10 years of experience in the travel industry (partnership management, business development, or strategic alliances, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry)
• Strong project management skills and insurance background is preferred
• Prior experience in insurance on boarding and digital solutioning is preferred
• Certification in PMP is preferred
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and capitalize on business opportunities through partnerships.
• Excellent project management skills, preferably on digital programs, with a track record of delivering results on time.
• Understanding of insurance products, services, and distribution channels.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data and derive actionable insights.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards related to insurance partnerships.

Ideally, we are looking for a candidate with several years of experience in Underwriting and/or Operations management in the insurance industry and/or reinsurance and/or brokerage.
